Junior Leader Training Program

Alongside Kids Day Out, we offer a Junior Leadership Training Program for students in Years 9–12. This program is designed for young people already serving in a NSW/ACT Baptist Church, providing an opportunity to grow their leadership skills, be stretched beyond their local context, and have real impact.

The program runs over two days:

    • Day One (Monday 6 July for Central Coast | Friday 17 July for Sydney)
A day of leadership development and intentional investment, run in partnership between the Baptist Children & Family Ministries Team and Baptist Youth Ministries Team. You’ll receive teaching, mentoring, and hands-on experience as you prepare and plan key elements of Kids Day Out.

    • Day Two (Tuesday 7 July for Central Coast | Monday 20 July for Sydney)
Junior Leaders step into significant leadership roles during Kids Day Out, applying what they’ve learned while being supported and mentored as they serve.

Junior Leaders are actively involved in all aspects of State Kids Camp and receive coaching throughout the Kids Day Out experience.  Following Kids Day Out there will an opportunity for an online debrief for junior leaders.  All junior leaders receive a certificate.

Spaces for the Junior Leader Training Program are limited. We receive more applications than we can accommodate for junior leadership programs, so not every applicant can be accepted.

If you’re a young person ready to take your leadership to the next level, or a church leader wishing to nominate someone from your church, please register your interest.

Leading at Kids Day Out

We’d love for you to join us as a leader at Kids Day Out on 7 July (Central Coast) or 20 July (Sydney)! We especially encourage you to join in as a leader if children from your church are attending, to help create a familiar and supportive environment for them.

As a leader (18+), you’ll guide a small group of kids through the full day program, helping them engage, learn, and have fun in a safe and encouraging environment.

Once you have been accepted as a leader, there is a 1.5-hour training session before camp.  There’s no activity preparation required and everything you need will be provided.

If you’re ready to join in and be part of this exciting day, or if you have any questions, register your interest below and we will be in touch.

Bring a Group from Your Church

Register a group from your church to attend Kids Day Out together!  Some churches run fundraisers ahead of Kids’ Day Out to sponsor tickets, organise group transport by cars or on a bus, and make it a key part of their children’s ministry calendar.
