Join a Leadership Cohort in 2026
Is this the next step in your leadership journey in kids and family ministry?
Join us for a Leadership Cohort – 5 sessions designed to develop your leadership as a Children or Families Pastor/Coordinator and connect you with others in similar roles for encouragement and collaboration.
Following the group sessions, you’ll receive 1-2 individual coaching sessions to support your ongoing personal and ministry growth.
Our Semester One Cohort (March-June) will run on Tuesdays (dates below) and our Semester Two Cohort (August-November) will run on Wednesdays (dates TBC).
Connection
Each session we take time to connect, catch up and check in with one another. Part of the value of cohort is developing relationships that extend into the future, providing ongoing support and connection with others in similar roles.
Content
Throughout the five group sessions, we explore a range of topics including:
- Getting to the Why
- How Faith Forms
- Effective Programming
- Developing as a Leader
- Building Team
Collaboration
At the end of each session, we bring our collective wisdom to share ideas. Topics can change depending on the interest of the group but have included:
- Children and Baptism
- Transitions between Age Groups
- Peak Experiences
- Equipping Parents for Faith at Home

What format is Leadership Cohort delivered in?
All group sessions and individual coaching sessions are held online via Microsoft Teams, allowing Kids Pastors from across NSW and the ACT to participate.
When are the sessions, and how long are they?
Leadership Cohort meets five times over four months – approximately every three weeks – with each session running for 1.5 hours. Our next cohort will run March to June 2026.
What is the cost of Leadership Cohort?
The cost for the five group sessions, and 1-2 individual coaching sessions is $200. We encourage churches to cover this cost as part of their Children’s Ministry leader’s professional development.
Who is Leadership Cohort aimed at?
Leadership Cohort is primarly designed for Children or Family Ministry Pastors/Coordinators who have been in their role for less than three years. If you are brand new to your role, this is a great way to start! We have also had experinced Kids Pastors participate who found great value in being part of the cohort, so all are welcome.
Will Leadership Cohort run again?
Yes, Leadership Cohort runs twice per year: March-June and July-November. We vary the day and time each semester. If the timing doesn’t suit you this semester, let us know and we’ll keep you updated when the next dates are confirmed.
